      Fried Gram

      Pottukadalai (in Tamil)

  1. Soaking: Chana dal is soaked and drained.

  2. Roasting: It's then dry-roasted in hot sand or using mechanical roasters (no oil) until puffed and crispy.

  3. Cooling & Sieving: Separated from the roasting medium (usually hot sand).

  4. Packaging: Sometimes de-husked and used plain or seasoned for snacking.
